The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent - Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a particular time period and as expeditiously as possible. As can be seen from the petition that the petitioner was issued a caste certificate belonging to 'Mana' Scheduled Tribe on 12.06.2018 by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Umred. On 28.12.2024, the petitioner submitted the necessary proposal for verification of her caste claim to the respondent - Committee. Along with the said proposal, the petitioner filed various documents in support of her caste claim. As can be seen from the record that the caste claim is still pending with the respondent Committee. On 08.01.2026, the petitioner issued a rejoinder to the Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste

wp 2091-2026.odt 3/3 claim as early as possible since the first hearing of the matter had already been concluded four months back. In that view of the matter, the present petition is filed seeking a direction as stated supra.

We have heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner, as also Shri S.V. Narale, learned Assistant Government Pleader, learned Counsel for the respondent. Since the prayer made in the petition is innocuous, the petition can be disposed of by directing the Scrutiny Committee, i.e., the respondent herein, to decide the caste claim of the petitioner, pending before it and which is filed on 28.12.2024, as expeditiously as possible and, in any case, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of the order. The petition is disposed of as such.

Rule is made absolute. No order as to costs.
