Heard Shri. P. J. Mehta, learned counsel for petitioner. 2.

The contention is that late Dr. (Prof.) Randhirsingh Babusingh Pawar was appointed as an Assistant Professor in respondent No.5 - College run by respondent No.4 - Management. Shri. Pawar, who was in service of respondent No.5, died in harness on 12.08.2022. The petitioner is the wife of deceased employee and was dependent upon him, thus, the petitioner on 26.09.2022 submitted an application for appointment on compassionate basis.

Shri. P. J. Mehta, learned counsel for petitioner, submits that even after passage of almost three and half years now, the aforesaid application is not yet decided by the respondents. He invited our attention to the communication dated 08.10.2025 issued by respondent No.3 - Joint Director of Higher Education, Amravati Division, Amravati, to respondent No.5 - College, thereby directing it to consider the aforesaid application and decide expeditiously, considering the nature of appointment. Shri. Mehta, learned counsel, submits that even after such communication, no action has been initiated by the respondent

In view of the above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to respondent No.4 - Management and respondent No.5 - College, to decide the application dated 26.09.2022 submitted by the petitioner for grant of appointment on compassionate basis, within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of production of the order of this Court. The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner, within a period of two weeks thereafter. 5.
