The alleged acute and unprecedented shortage in the domestic supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), led the petitioners who operate as frontline LPG distributors, to file this petition, raising concern about supply chain of LPG. 2.

We have heard learned counsel for the respective parties. 3.

Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General of India, draws attention of this Court to the affidavit in reply dated 17th March 2026, more particularly, to paragraphs 2 to 4. It is stated that, Union of India is fully cognizant of all the issues arising with regard to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The Union of India is making all possible attempts domestically and internationally to ensure that, no hardship is caused to anyone and the distribution and availability remains smooth. MJ Jadhav

It is further submitted that if there are any local issues which may be the result of an individual dereliction of duty or breach of law of any wholesale or retail distributor, strict actions are being taken and shall continue to be taken by the competent authorities.

In view of the above referred statements on affidavit and considering the fact that, the aforesaid situation has arisen due to ongoing conflict between the United States/Israel and Iran, we are of the opinion that, such situation warrants high degree of judicial restraint and caution by the Court. During the time of conflict, the Court should not interfere with discretionary powers exercised by the executives in good faith. 6.

We are thus of the opinion that no directions are required to be issued or any order to be passed in this petition. 7.
