Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

The petitioners have approached this Court seeking direction to the respondents to grant them benefits in view of the representation submitted on 4th October 2023, which is at record page No.47 Annexure- F.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the aforesaid representation made by the petitioners has been rejected in respect of some of the petitioners and is still pending in respect of the others. Insofar as the rejection in respect of some of the petitioners is concerned, the same is placed on record at page No. 161.

The aforesaid communication dated 14th February 2025 reveals that the rejection is by a one-line order, without assigning any reasons, much less granting any opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

In view of the above, we dispose of the aforesaid writ petition with a direction to respondent No.3- Collector Amravati to decide the aforesaid representation dated 4th October 2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eights weeks from the production of order of this Court. 6.
Respondent No.3- Collector is also directed to grant opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, if required and to pass a reasoned order while deciding their entitlement for compensation.

The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioners within a period of two weeks from the dateof such decision.

Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of.
