Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. 2.

The contention of the petitioner is that his father, who was serving as a Class-IV employee at the Industrial Training Institute, Gondia, died in harness on 20.05.2003. Following the demise of the sole breadwinner of the family, the petitioner's mother applied for appointment on compassionate grounds. However, no appointment was granted to her, and she was ultimately rendered ineligible on account of having crossed the prescribed age limit for such appointment.

The present petitioner, being the son of the deceased employee, applied for appointment on compassionate grounds on 13.06.2008, after attaining the age of majority. 4.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite repeated representations and requests, the application for grant of compassionate appointment has not nd.thawre

2/2 been decided by the respondents till date. The last representation was submitted by the petitioner on 07.02.2026 (page 80). However, even after the said representation, the respondents have failed to take any decision on the petitioner's claim.

In view of the above, we dispose of the petition with direction to the respondent No.4-Collector, Gondia to decide the claim of the petitioner for grant of appointment on compassionate basis within stipulated period of eight weeks, on its own merit, and in accordance with law. 6.

The learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes to furnish copy of this order to the respondent No.4 within one week from today.

The decision taken shall be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks from the date of such decision. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No order as to costs.
