The petitioners seek challenge to the election of respondent No.2-Cooperative Society held on 25/01/2026.

The contention is that the aforesaid election has been held in utter violation of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies (Election to Committee) Rules, 2014.

However, Rule 78 of the aforesaid Rules of 2014 prohibits challenge to the election except under Section 91 of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960. Accordingly, the petitioners have alternate remedy of filing dispute under Section 91 of the Act of 1960. 5.

Hence, we dispose of the present writ petition with liberty to the petitioner, more specifically petitioner No.2 to avail the aforesaid remedy available in law.

No costs.
