Heard Shri Vaishnav Ingole, learned counsel for the petitioner and Shri Saurabh Choudhari, learned counsel for all the respondents.

The contention is that the father of the petitioner was an employee of the respondent No.4. He died in harness and the petitioner is the son of the deceased employee and applied for grant of appointment on compassionate basis on 14/01/2024.

The respondents vide communication dated 18/12/2025 issued to the petitioner, informed that his claim for appointment on compassionate basis cannot be granted, in view of New Relative Merit points on the post of Peon / official work. However, if he desires, he can apply for appointment on compassionate basis for any

In compliance of the abovesaid instructions of the respondents, the petitioner immediately on 09/01/2026 had applied to the respondents for grant of appointment on compassionate basis on any other post as directed by them. The aforesaid application dated 09/01/2026 is at record Page No.31 (Annexure-7). 6.
Shri Ingole, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since then, the petitioner has been awaiting communication on the part of the respondents regarding such application. However, such application is not yet decided.

Shri Saurabh Choudhari, learned counsel who appears for respondents submits that the decision upon such application shall be taken within a period of eight weeks from the date of production of order of this Court. 8.
Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.2 to 5 to consider the application dated 09/01/2026 submitted by the petitioner for grant of appointment on compassionate basis on its own merits and in accordance with law within stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of production of order of this Court.

The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of this order.

Writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
