Heard Shri Ashwin Ingole, the learned counsel for the petitioner. 2.
At the outset, Shri Ingole, learned counsel for the petitioner, seeks oral leave of this Court to add Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, State of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Mumbai, as a party respondent no.4.

Leave granted. Necessary amendment be carried out forthwith. 4.
The petitioner seeks challenge to the impugned communication dated 19.03.2026 issued by the respondent no.1-Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons, State of Maharashtra, Pune. The aforesaid communication dated 19.03.2024 is at record page No. 29-Annexure-C 5.
By virtue of the aforesaid communication, the respondent no.1 has rejected the request of the petitioner for change in the date of birth on the ground that such application for the aforesaid change was not made within a period of five years from date of her first appointment. 6.
Shri Ingole, learned counsel, has invited our attention to the appeal preferred by the petitioner to the newly added respondent no.4-
118-WP-2830-2026.odt 2 Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai, against such order. The aforesaid appeal dated 03.07.2024 was received/submitted on 23.09.2024 and is at record page No. 30-Annexure-D. Shri Ingole, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that even after passage of almost one and half years now, the aforesaid appeal is not yet decided by the State Government/respondent no.4.

In view of above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.4 to decide the aforesaid appeal dated 23.09.2024 within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of production of order of this Court.

Decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of such decision. 9.
