The petition prays for a direction to the Scrutiny Committee, Amravati, to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within the stipulated period. As can be seen from the petition that the petitioner, belonging to 'Thakur' Scheduled Tribe, was issued a caste certificate by the Sub Divisional Officer, Balapur, on 17.03.2020. Thereafter, on 10.10.2025 petitioner submitted a proposal for verification of his said caste claim to the respondent Committee.

It is further stated in the petition that the petitioner is a student and is aspiring to get admission in a professional course from the Scheduled Tribe category, but due to pendancy for proposal for verification, there has been an embargo. In that view of the matter, the petition is filed. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that in spite of making persistent requests to the respondent Committee for expeditious disposal of the same,

nb wp 2912-2026.odt 3/3 precious little has been done. He therefore seeks a direction as stated supra.

We have considered the contentions canvassed by the learned Counsel for the parties. It is an admitted fact on record that the caste claim is pending before the respondent Committee since 29.10.2025. We are therefore of the considered opinion that a direction to the respondent Committee to decide the caste claim preferred by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and preferably within three months from the date of this order would suffice and guard the interest of the petitioner. 8.

In that view of the matter, the petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within three months from the date of receipt of this order.
