In the present petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to comply with the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Anushka Rengunthwar and Others vs. Union of India and Others, reported in (2023) 11 SCC 209, and permit OCI card holders who have acquired OCI status prior to 4th March, 2021, to apply for and be considered against open/general category seats, in addition to the NRI/FN/PIO/OCI quota seats, for admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Degree Course in all Colleges imparting said degree, situated in State of Maharashtra. 2.
Considering the prayers made in the present petition and in view of the fact that the similar issue has already been decided by the Hon'ble Supreme in the case of Anushka Rengunthwar (supra), we are of the opinion that the purpose of the present petition will be served if the respondent No.2 to consider the grievance of the petitioner, as stated in the present petition, and take a decision in light of the above-referred judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Anushka Rengunthwar (supra) within a stipulated period. 3.
Accordingly, we dispose of the present petition with a direction to the respondent No.2 to consider the grievance of the petitioner, as raised in
2 WP-3015-2026.odt the present petition, and take a decision in light of the prayers made in the petition, after considering the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Anushka Rengunthwar (supra), within two weeks from today. 4.
The decision taken by the respondent No.2, as directed hereinabove, shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter. 5.
