DATED : 4th May, 2026 The grievance raised in the present petition is in respect of Notification No.52/2026 dated 04/04/2026 issued by respondent-Amravati University prescribing Novel 'Dhag' in place of Novel 'Te Pannas Diwas' in the syllabus of Bachelor of Arts Part II for the academic year 2025-26 in the study of types of Literature Novels '.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that the Academic Calendar for the Academic Session 2025-2026 was published by respondent No.1-University on 03/01/2026. The session started in June 2025 and ends in May 2026. The teaching of Semester started from 03/11/2025. Teaching was conducted on the basis of the prescribed syllabus and the students prepared for the exam accordingly. However, suddenly four weeks before the examination, the impugned communication was issued wherein Novel 'Te Pannas Diwas' was changed and substituted by the Novel 'Dhag'.

The objection is on the ground that the new novel was not

In the above referred backdrop, the Registrar of respondent No.1 is present in Court and has given a proposal which according to us will resolve the issue and will not cause any hardship to any of the students.

The proposal is that the respondents will issue a Circular immediately and duly publish the same through all available print and electronic media in order to seek options from each of the students. Each student will be examined as per the option exercised by him/her at the time of filling the examination forms for BA Part II Semester IV, Marathi Literature Course (Major-V) Study of types Literature:- Novel.

Minutes of Proposal dated 04/05/2026 is taken on record and marked as Article-'X' for the purpose of identification. 7.
As we have recorded herein above that we find that the proposal of respondent No.1 takes care of interest of the students and as the same will resolve the issue involved in this petition, we accept the said proposal and we direct respondent No.1 to act upon it.

In the circumstances, we are of the opinion nothing survives in the present writ petition.
