The State Information Commission, through its Chairman/Commissioner, Amravati Division, Amravati] Office Notes, Office Memoranda of Coram, appearances, Court's orders of directions Court's or Judge's order and Registrar's orders.
Shri S.M. Vaishnav, Counsel for Petitioner.
Shri J.Y. Ghurde, Assistant Government Pleader for Respondent. CORAM : ANIL S. KILOR AND RAJ D. WAKODE , JJ.
D ATE : 22 nd APRIL, 2026 .
1.
Heard Shri S.M. Vaishnav, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2.
The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent-State Information Commission to decide the appeals filed by the petitioner, which are pending since 2019, expeditiously and in a time-bound manner. 3.
The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the statutory appeals under the Right to Information Act, 2005 were filed by the petitioner on 9th August, 2019. The learned counsel submits that even after passage of almost seven years, the aforesaid appeals have not been decided by the respondent-State Information Commission. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court.
4.
In view of above, the respondent-State Information Commission is directed to decide the appeals preferred by the petitioner within a stipulated period of four weeks from the date of production of this order, if not decided earlier. The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks thereafter. 5.
With the aforesaid directions, the petition stands disposed of. No costs.
