DATE :

04.05 .2026 ORAL JUDGMENT (PER :

) Heard.

2 wp 3771-2026.odt 2/3 2.

Rule. Rule made returnable forthwith.

3.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader waives notice for final disposal on behalf of respondent/State.

4.

In view of the innocuous prayer being made in the petition, we do not think it fit to call for any reply to be filed by the respondent.

5.

The present petition seeks a direction to the respondent Scheduled Tribe Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Amravati, to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within stipulated period. The petitioner belonging to 'Thakur' Scheduled Tribe, was issued a caste certificate on 05.04.2024, and he sent a proposal for verification on 18.12.2024. It is his contention that the petition still pends, and therefore, the present petition is filed seeking expeditious disposal of the proposal.

6.

In view of the matter, we direct the respondent Scheduled Tribe Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Amravati, to decide the caste claim of the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, and in any case, within four weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

2 wp 3771-2026.odt 3/3 7.

The petitioner to appear before the respondent Scrutiny Committee on 11.05.2026, and to apprise the Committee of the said order.

8.

The petition is disposed of. Rule is made absolute in the above terms.

(NANDESH S. DESHPANDE, J.) (SMT. M.S. JAWALKAR, J.) Jayashree..
