2] The contention is that, the property, which is owned by the petitioner - Trust - Darul Uloom Muslim Minority Welfare Education Society, has been wrongly recorded as a Waqf property. The petitioner has, accordingly, approached the learned Maharashtra State Waqf Board by filing an application under Sections 40 and 41 of the Waqf Act, 1995, for correction of the aforesaid entry. The aforesaid application was submitted on 21/9/2023. The Counsel submits that even after passage of almost 2 1⁄2 years now, the aforesaid application is not yet decided by the respondent. The petitioner has also submitted reminders for expeditious decision of the aforesaid application, however, till date, the same is not yet decided.

3] In view of above, we dispose of the present Writ Petition with a direction to the respondent to decide the aforesaid application, which is at record page 31

111-WP-3777-2026 (Annexure - D), submitted by the petitioner, within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of production of order of this Court, on its own merits and in accordance with law. The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks from the date of such decision.

4] The Writ Petition is disposed of in above terms. No costs.
