The contention is that respondent No.3, without granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner-Society, cancelled the minority status granted in favour of the petitioner. The aforesaid order was passed on 10th November, 2025. Being aggrieved thereby, the petitioner-Society immediately challenged the same by filing an appeal before respondent No.2 on 20th November, 2025. The aforesaid appeal is at record page No. 65 (Annexure-N).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, since the minority status of the petitioner-Society has been revoked without granting any opportunity of hearing, and the appeal is pending since 20th November, 2025, serious prejudice is being caused to the petitioner.

In view of the above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to respondent No.2, the Appellate

118.WP.3821.2026 2/2 Authority-cum-Secretary, Minority Development, Mantralaya, Mumbai, to decide the aforesaid appeal dated 20th November, 2025, which at record page No.65 (Annexure-N) within a period of four weeks from the date of production of this order. The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioners within two weeks thereafter.
