The grievance raised in the Petition is to the appointment of the Deputy Collector/SDO/SDM, Canacona, as the Electoral Registration Officer for the elections to be held for the Canacona Municipal Council. Learned Advocate General makes a statement that the Deputy Collector of Canacona, Mr. Prataprao Gaunkar, would be transferred within two days as Deputy Collector of Vasco and in his 30th March, 2026

49 WP 217 2026 place, the Deputy Collector of Vasco, Mr Bhagwant Karmali, would now be transferred as Deputy Collector, Canacona. In this view of the matter, the grievance raised in the Petition stands redressed and does not survive.

On instructions, the Petitioner seeks to withdraw the Petition. The Petition stands dismissed as withdrawn.
