By this application Mr. Joharapurkar, learned Advocate seeks extension of time to deposit the amount of compensation as per order dated 14-02-2024. Record reveals that despite grant of 12 weeks time the amount was not deposited, neither any application was submitted before expiry of the period of 12 weeks. However, the appellants need to be granted an opportunity to deposit the amount, in the interest of justice, so that the matter is contested on merits.

Having regard to the contents of the application and the submissions advanced, the application is allowed subject to costs of Rs.5000/- to be deposited in Public Welfare Account No.129712010001014, IFSC Code-UBIN0812978, within a period of two weeks from today.
