The applicant has filed this application seeking discharge of Mr. Shriniwas S. Patwardhan, learned advocate, and permission to engage another advocate, namely Mr. Sajid Mahat in the matter. 2.

Learned advocate for the applicant submits that the applicant has sent a letter to the earlier advocate appearing in the matter requesting issuance of a No Objection Certificate to engage another advocate, as the applicant is 82 years of age and it is not possible for him to conduct the matter. Further, he is unable to afford fees of the advocate from Mumbai and, therefore, seeks to engage a junior lawyer at the Circuit Bench at Kolhapur. The letter is filed on record. Mr. Shriniwas S. Patwardhan has not responded

502-ia48-2026.doc to the said letter, which was issued on 22nd December 2025. Therefore, the applicant has filed the present application seeking discharge of the earlier advocate and permission to engage another advocate, as the matter has been settled between the parties and the applicant wishes to withdraw it.

In view of the above, Mr. Shriniwas S. Patwardhan learned advocate, is discharged from representing the petitioner in writ petition.

The applicant is permitted to engage Mr. Sajid Mahat, learned advocate, who is allowed to file his Vakalatnama on record.

The Registry is directed to accept the Vakalatnama without a No Objection Certificate.

6.

The interim application stands allowed.
