The learned APP today placed on record communication dated 04.05.2026 issued by Special I.G. Prisons of Maharashtra State along with chart showing the capacity of inmates and present vacant position in open prisons in the State of Maharashtra. The communication is taken on record and marked 'X' for the purpose of identification.

Learned APP further submits that the waiting list number of the present petitioner at present is 297 and whenever the

As such, we hope that the claim of petitioner be decided for shifting him in open prison in next meeting which is likely to be held in the month of June 2026. As such, we dispose of this petition with direction to respondent No.1 to decide the claim of the petitioner in next meeting for shifting him to open prison.
