Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner.

The challenge in this petition is to the externment order dated 26th August 2025 passed by the competent authority under Section 55 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner has preferred an appeal against the said order under Section 60 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 before the Divisional Commissioner, Pune, on 30th September 2025. However, the appeal has not yet been heard. 4.

As the Petitioner has already availed the statutory remedy of appeal, it would be expedient that the said appeal is decided by the appellate authority as expeditiously as possible. Ajit 1/2

The appellate authority-Respondent No.2 is directed to list the appeal for hearing on 16th March 2026, and hear and decide the said appeal as expeditiously as possible and, preferably, within a period of four weeks from 16th March 2026.
