Mr. Aditya Sharma, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the son of the petitioner received a call presumably without any complaint registered against him. The learned counsel for the petitioner refers to certain screenshots and submits that the enquiry through a true-caller would establish that a certain call was received by the son of the petitioner from the Police Inspector attached to the Charkop Police Station, Mumbai. In this background, the petitioner is seeking an enquiry to be instituted against the concerned Police Inspector and other erring officials from the Charkop Police Station. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as to establish that certain illegalities were committed to the son of the petitioner, it is necessary that CCTV footage should be preserved. 2.

If this is the case set up by the petitioner, the appropriate remedy to the petitioner lies elsewhere. A mere statement made by the petitioner that certain illegalities were committed by the Police 1/2 905-WP-1116-2026.doc Dixit

Inspector and other erring officials attached to the Charkop Police Station, departmental proceedings cannot be instituted against those erring officers. There are rules of service and discipline which regulate the disciplinary enquiry against the government servants on an allegation of committing misconduct in course of the service. No such fact or law has been brought on record by the petitioner.

Writ Petition No.1116 of 2026 is dismissed.
