Heard the learned Counsel for the Petitioner. 2.

The challenge in this Petition is to an order dated 3 January 2026 passed by the Competent Authority - Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone VI, Chambur, externing the Petitioner under the provisions of Section 56(1)(a) and (b) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1959.

SWAROOP SHARAD PHADKE 3.

There is a statutory remedy of appeal against the said order before the SWAROOP SHARAD PHADKE Date: 2026.05.08 09:01:29 +0530 Divisional Commissioner under Section 60 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1959.

Thus, the Writ Petition stands disposed with liberty to the Petitioner to file an appeal before the Divisional Commissioner. 5.

In the event, the Petitioner files an appeal within a period of one week from today, the Divisional Commissioner is requested to hear and decide the SSP 1/2

10 wp 1502 of 2026.doc appeal as expeditiously as possible, and, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of the filing of the appeal. 6.

The time spent by the Petitioner in prosecuting this Petition may be accounted for in the event the question of limitation arises for filing an appeal. ( N.J.JAMADAR, J. ) SSP 2/2
