At 11.00 a.m., Mr. Advait Shukla, learned Advocate for the Petitioner, circulated a praecipe dated 08.06.2026. The same is taken on record and marked 'X' for identification. At the request of Mr. Advait Shukla, this Petition was directed to be placed on the "Production List".

By the present Petition, the Petitioner has sought the following substantive reliefs in prayer clause 19 (a):- "a.
That this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the Ld. Additional Sessions Judge, Pimpri-Chinchwad,
Pune, to finally decide and dispose of the Criminal Bail Application No. 295 of 2026, pending before it in an expeditious and time bound manner within a period of two weeks;"

The grievance of Mr. Advait Shukla, learned Advocate for the Petitioner, is that Criminal Bail Application No. 530 of 2026, filed by the Petitioner before the Additional Sessions Judge, Pune, has been pending disposal since 22.01.2026. He submits that Criminal Bail Application No. 530 of 2026 has now been renumbered as Criminal Bail Application No. 295 of 2026 and allotted to the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, PimpriChinchwad. 4.
Mr. Advait Shukla, learned Advocate for the Petitioner states that Criminal Bail Application No. 295 of 2026 is scheduled for 17.06.2026 before the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Mrs. Rajeshree Newton, learned APP for the State, submits that the Criminal Bail Application No. 295 of 2026 may be ordered to be disposed of expeditiously.

The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Anna Waman Bhalerao Vs. State of Maharashtra1 in paragraph No. 18 has made the following observations :- 18.
We accordingly issue the following directions: a) High Courts shall ensure that applications for bail and anticipatory bail pending before them or before the subordinate courts under their jurisdiction are disposed of expeditiously, preferably within a period of two months from the date of filing, except in cases where delay is attributable to the parties themselves. b) High Courts shall issue necessary administrative directions to subordinate courts to prioritise matters involving personal liberty and to avoid indefinite adjournments.
c) Investigating agencies are expected to conclude investigations in long-pending cases with promptitude so that neither the complainant nor the accused suffers prejudice on account of undue delay. d) Being the highest constitutional fora in the States, High Courts must devise suitable mechanisms and procedures to avoid accumulation of pending bail/anticipatory bail applications and ensure that the liberty of citizens is not left in abeyance. In particular, bail and anticipatory bail applications shall not be kept pending for long durations without passing orders either way, as such pendency directly impinges upon the fundamental right to liberty. 18.1. The Registrar (Judicial) of this Court shall circulate a copy of this judgment to all High Courts for immediate compliance and prompt administrative action.

In view of the pronouncement in the case of Anna Waman Bhalerao (supra), the Additional Sessions Judge, Pimpri2025 SCC OnLine SC 1974
Chinchwad, is directed to dispose of the Criminal Bail Application within two months from 17.06.2026.

Mr. Advait Shukla, learned Advocate for the Petitioner, states that no adjournment will be sought on behalf of the Petitioner. He further states that this order will be placed before the Additional Sessions Judge, Pimpri-Chinchwad, on or before 17.06.2026.

Criminal Writ Petition No. 2547 of 2026 stands disposed of.
