This is an application for grant of regular bail. The offence registered against the present applicant, who is sole accused is under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The First Information Report dated 09-02-2026 was lodged at the behest of Yashwant Borse, Police Inspector, attached to the Anti Corruption Bureau, Dhule.

In short, it is the case of the prosecution that the applicant was working on the post of Deputy Engineer, Public Works Department, Electrical Sub-Division, Nandurbar and had demanded
(2) the bribe amount of Rs.8,50,000/- which was finally settled to Rs.80,000/-. A trap was laid in which he was found accepting an amount of Rs.80,000/-. It is in this background, the applicant was arrested on 09-02-2026.

The learned senior counsel for the applicant submitted that his bail application was rejected by the trial court on 23-02-2026 on the ground that the applicant is the public servant occupying the higher post. He submitted that investigation is already completed. 5.
Per contra, learned APP submitted that the offence is serious. The corruption is spreading in the society like cancer. Therefore, the application be rejected.

With the help of respective counsels, I have gone through the record of the case. The record of the case shows that on 09-022026 the applicant was arrested while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.80,000/-. The tainted notes are seized. House panchanama is also conducted. So also, the procedure regarding recording of panchanama is also completed. Thus, it is clear that major part of the investigation is over.

The learned Senior counsel further submitted that the applicant is already put under suspension.

In that view of the matter and considering the facts narrated supra the following order is passed:
ORDER
a] The application is allowed.
b] The applicant shall be released on bail in connection with FIR No.42/2026 dated 09-02-2026 registered with the Dhule City Police Station, Dist. Dhule for commission of offences punishable under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, on furnishing PR bond of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) with one surety in the like amount, on the following terms and conditions:
i.
The applicant shall attend the Anti Corruption Bureau, Dhule as and when called by the Investigating Officer.
ii.
The applicant shall not influence the witnesses or tamper the evidence.
iii.
The prosecution is at liberty to move an application for cancellation of bail, if the applicant breaches any of the conditions.
(4) iv.
The applicant shall not leave the country without prior permission of this court.
