Learned counsel for the Applicant seeks continuation of the order dated 14th January 2026 passed in Criminal Bail Application No. 133 of 2026 whereby, he was enlarged on temporary bail to enable him to undergo treatment at a private hospital. Learned counsel for the Applicant has placed on record, a certificate issued by the District Hospital, Udupi indicating that the Applicant requires 3 months or more, for treatment.

The learned APP on the last date of hearing was called upon to take instructions with regard to correctness of the said certificate. He, on instructions, makes a statement that the certificate has been issued by the District Civil Surgeon. 8th May, 2026.

Thus, there is no dispute about the fact that the Applicant requires at-least 3 months for taking further treatment. Learned counsel for the Applicant submits that the order of grant of temporary bail be extended for a further period of six months. This Court does not find it appropriate to extend by six months. Instead, it would be in the interest of justice, the order is extended by three months and thereafter medical condition of the Applicant would be ascertained. Hence, the order:-

ORDER

(i) The Bail Application stands allowed;

(ii) The order dated 14th January 2026 passed in Criminal Bail Application No. 133 of 2026 stands extended for a period of three months from today;

The Bail Application stands disposed of.
