The applicant has filed this application to quash and set aside the First Information Report vide Crime No. 85 of 2025 registered with Police Station Asegaon, district Washim for the offence punishable under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,2023.

The father of the victim lodged a complaint alleging that the applicant had kidnapped his minor daughter, pursuant to which the crime came to be registered against the present applicant.

It is submitted that the applicant and the victim were in a relationship. After attaining majority, the victim has married the applicant, and they are presently residing

Today, both the applicant and the victim are present before the Court. The victim states that she has voluntarily married the applicant after attaining majority, as her parents were initially not agreeable to the marriage. She further states that they are now living happily and that her parents are presently on cordial terms with her and have no objection to the marriage.

In view of the aforesaid facts, considering that the matter has been amicably settled, the victim has voluntarily married the applicant after attaining majority, and the offence is registered only under Section 137(2) of the BNS, 2023, no useful purpose would be served in continuing the proceedings. A case is, therefore, made out to quash the First Information Report registered against the applicant. 6.

Hence the First Information Report vide Crime No. 85 of 2025 registered with Police Station Asegaon, district Washim for the offence punishable under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,2023 is hereby quashed and set aside, only subject to the applicant depositing Rs.10,000/- (rupees ten thousand only) with the Public Welfare Account maintained with Union Bank of India, High Court Branch, Civil Lines, Nagpur bearing Account No.129712010001014

3 / 3 54-APL 213-26 and IFSC Code UBIN0812978 and producing the receipt thereof on record within a period of three weeks.

7. In view above, the application is allowed in the above terms and disposed of.
