This is a Petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of mandate of the Learned Arbitral Tribunal, which expired on December 30, 2025. 2.

It is common ground that the underlying instruments that have been sent for adjudication by the stamping authorities are yet to be stamped.

Learned Advocate for the Respondent objects on the premise that nothing has progressed in the matter and the parties are simply awaiting the stamping of their instrument. This objection does not lend February 16, 2026 MPBalekar

3-ARBP-48-2026 Final.doc itself to disallowing the Petition. Any grievances about the stamping application not being pursued with due dispatch may be made before the Learned Arbitral Tribunal.

In these circumstances, taking into account the stage at which the arbitral proceedings are placed, this Petition is finally disposed of extending the mandate of the Learned Arbitral Tribunal by period of one year from the date on which the stamped instrument is received by the parties or June 30, 2026, whichever is earlier. 5.

All actions required to be taken pursuant to this order shall be taken upon receipt of a downloaded copy as available on this Court's website.
