IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY
ORDINARY ORIGINAL CIVIL JURISDICTION COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION PETITION (L) NO.12990 OF 2026 Tata Capital Limited ....Petitioner
Versus
Ardor International Private Limited & Ors.
....Respondents Mr. Vyom Shah a/w. Gaurav Jangle & Nidhi Mistry i/b. I.V. Merchant & Co., for Petitioner.
CORAM: SOMASEKHAR SUNDARESAN, J.
DATE : APRIL 24, 2026 ORDER :
1.
This is a Petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of mandate of the Learned Arbitral Tribunal, which expired on February 17, 2026. 2.
Learned Advocate on behalf of the Respondent seeks an adjournment in order to file a reply to the Petition filed under Section 29A of the Act. Having examined the record and considering the stage at which the proceedings are, and the time invested in the same, it is not quite necessary to permit pleadings in what appears to be a reasonable and routine request for extension of mandate of the arbitral tribunal. 5.CARBPL.12990.2026(1).doc (corrected).doc 3.
The proceedings are presently at the stage of the written statement, and the same having been taken on record, the Learned Arbitral Tribunal is requested to conduct the proceedings expeditiously. The parties are directed to participate in and cooperate with the Learned Arbitral Tribunal, without insisting on hearings being held in the evening or on weekends. The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in a timely manner.
4.
In these circumstances, this Petition is finally disposed of extending the mandate of the Learned Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year, rounding it up until April 30, 2027.
5.
All actions required to be taken pursuant to this order shall be taken upon receipt of a downloaded copy as available on this Court's website.
