Interim Application has been preferred seeking direction for carrying out valuation of jewellery, ornaments, etc. of the deceased which are lying in the locker attached to savings Bank account opened in the name of learned Prothonotary and Senior Master by approved valuer.

Pursuant to the orders passed by this Court, two bags containing movables of the deceased were directed to be deposited in the locker. The valuation of the contents of the said bags is required to be carried out in order to verify whether the same are valuables for the purpose of disposition as per the grant. As it is informed that the Bank has panel of approved valuers, the Applicant is at liberty to select the Bank Sairaj 1 of
905 IA-916-2026.doc approved valuer from the panel of valuers and fix the time for carrying out valuation of contents of the bags in the locker. 3.
Time for carrying out valuation be fixed in consultation with the concerned official of learned Prothonotary and Senior Master. After valuation is carried out, the report of the valuation be placed on record of this Court. During valuation, the official from the office of learned Prothonotary and Senior Master to remain present at all times. 4.
After valuation, the contents to be re-deposited in the locker and the key to be handed over to the official of the Prothonotary and Senior Master. The costs of the valuation to be borne by the Applicant herein.

This Court is also informed that scanning was done of the documents which were in the custody of learned Prothonotary and Senior Master pertaining to the estate of the deceased on a holiday and there are certain administrative charges/ expenses which are required to be paid. The office of learned Prothonotary and Senior Master to communicate the said charges to learned counsel for Applicant and the same to be paid by the Applicant within period of 10 days from the date of demand.
